Corwin Duncan

“Corwin, FOCUS!”

My coach was yelling at me again. Not to be mean - it was just that yelling was the only way to get me to pay attention. I heard it at every competition.

However much I trained or how hard I worked, it wasn’t enough to get consistent results. I have always struggled with staying focused.

Fencing helped, but it was difficult to keep my results consistent — until I got my head in the right place. It took me over ten years of fencing before I had learned how to prepare myself mentally, and I’m still working on it.

Even though I was able to win the U16 national championship in 2005, the Junior national fencing championship in 2008, and get 9th Place in Junior World Championships, I knew my mental game was the biggest thing holding me back.

Now I want to offer every athlete the chance I never had, to have one place to learn about the mental side of the sport.

I want you to have the tools you need to be mentally ready for any situation, the confidence to perform at your best, even in the most difficult situations.

I’m committed to teaching methods that are immediately applicable — it’s important to me that my students are able to improve their game from day one.
